This test is performed to measure the number of blood cells present in our blood. This test is the foremost approach to check an individual's fitness, but it should be done in every individual on a priority basis to diagnose any pathology. Infections, Malignancies, and all types of inflammations, including allergic responses, can be diagnosed through this test. Moreover, Male Infertility and Erectile Dysfunction can also be diagnosed after these tests. We usually draw a Blood sample from the vein to perform this.
This test involves;
FSH and LH
- Red Blood Cell count to measure the number of red blood cells
- Hemoglobin concentration
- White Blood cell count and Differentiated White cell count
- Platelet Count
FSH and LH are responsible for carrying out proper erection in males. This is because of the fact that it helps in the production of testosterone hormone. In short, FSH and LH levels are used to check the erectile dysfunction and their level is way much reduced in the Impotence
Progesterone hormone helps to maintain the sexual activity in man. Low level of progesterone can lead to erectile dysfunction because it affects testosterone production. If you are feeling loss of libido, this is one of the important hormone that should be tested and its level is very low in impotence
This test is done to measure the level of testosterone in the blood. Testosterone is the main hormone of sexual-drive in males. Inadequate production in men can lead to infertility and erectile dysfunction in men. Moreover, bone and body muscle mass are also maintained by testosterone. The level of testosterone is measured by drawing blood venous samples. The testicles produce it in men. We don't need any specific preparations to perform this test.
Vitamin B12 Test
Low level of Vitamin B12 is associated with loss of sexual stimuli because Vitamin B12 is the nerve nourisher. This test is performed to measure the level of Vitamin B12 or cobalamin in the blood. Altered level of Vitamin B12 can result in Sensory and peripheral neuropathies. We usually draw a blood sample to perform this test, and there are no special arrangements to be made before performing this test.
Thyroid hormone helps to carry out the normal metabolic and sexual activity of a man. Low level of thyroid hormone can lead to loss of libido and sexual dysfunction. This is the reason that if you are feeling low sexual activity, immediately go for thyroid function tests to rule out the cause. Moreover, timely diagnosis can help us to fix it.
